A beautiful day of culture, wine and local traditions in the area of the Castelli Romani, literally meaning “Roman Castles”. Discover the hidden treasures of Frascati, the Tuscolan Villas and participate in a wine tasting in a wine cellar with the producer. Ending the day in Nemi and Castel Gandolfo.
We will walk the streets of one of the most renowned municipalities of the Castelli Romani, famous for the various Tuscolan villas once home to illustrious patrician families.
The town is also often remembered for the Neo-Renaissance Baroque cathedral of St Peter and the church of Gesù built in the eighteenth century by the genius of Carlo Fontana.
In the late morning we will move to a local winery. We will visit the old farmhouse surrounded by nature, vineyards and olive groves. In these places vines have been cultivated since Roman times, it is possible to visit ancient caves where wine has been aged for millennia.
Surrounded by centuries-old vines and olive groves, it will seem like walking inside a natural museum in a heavenly setting just a few steps from the city. We will talk about the vine working techniques and the winemaking processes.
We will guide you through a tasting of three locally produced wines, including the famous white wine Frascati Superiore DOCG. There will also be extra virgin olive oil, another pride of this land, which with its harmonious and fruity taste gives an extra touch to the gastronomic wonders of the area.
Afterwards, lunch will be served consisting of an appetizer and a first course of the Roman tradition.
