We will begin the tour with the entrance to the Flavian Amphitheater, better known as the Colosseum, one of the most visited monuments of all time, icon of the Capitoline city.
With the skip-the-line ticket included and our professional guide we will cross the entrance gate to enter the Arena where the gladiators used to fight.
We will tell the story and the secrets of the Colosseum, amphitheater that could contain up to 50,000.
Although time and looting have caused some damage, much of the structure of the Colosseum is still standing. With the guide we will visit the inside of this archaeological wonder dating back to 80 d.C, it will be like going back in time for a truly unique experience.
After the visit to the Colosseum we will move to the Roman Forum, the center of the political and religious power of Ancient Rome.
Crossing the Via Sacra, the road that linked the Piazza del Campidoglio to the Colosseum, we will see the archaeological monuments of this extraordinary place, such as the Arch of Titus, the Basilica of Maxentius and Constantine and the Curia Iulia, the building where the Senate used to meet.
The last part of our tour in the history of Rome will be at the Palatine, the hill with the oldest settlement, dating back to 1,000 B.C.
This area houses some of the most important buildings built for Roman high society, such as the Domus Flavia, the House of Livia and even the House of Augustus, the residence of the emperor that retains part of its original frescoes.
We will go from Piazza della Rotonda to admire the Pantheon, a temple built in 27 B.C. and then converted into a basilica and the Renaissance fountain of 1575.
We will then arrive at Piazza di Spagna, a place where important monuments such as the Barcaccia Fountain and the Trinità dei Monti Staircase merge with the innovation of the great Italian luxury brands such as Gucci, Fendi, Valentino who have chosen this location for unforgettable parades.
Adjacent to the square we find Via Condotti, synonymous with fashion district and shopping for all tourists arriving in the capital. We will not miss the stop at the Trevi Fountain, made unforgettable by Fellini in the famous scene of La Dolce Vita in which a very young Anita Ekberg invites Marcello Mastroianni in the water: “Marcello, come here!”.
