Guide tour of the Colosseum

• Meeting with the guide at the meeting point in the city center and start of the guided tour to one of the largest archaeological areas in the world.

We will begin the tour with the entrance to the Flavian Amphitheater, better known as the Colosseum, one of the most visited monuments ever, an icon of the Capitoline city.

With skip-the-line tickets included and our professional guide, we will cross the entrance gate to enter the arena where the gladiator fights took place.

We will tell the story and the secrets of this fascinating place that could hold up to 50,000 spectators.

Although time and looting have caused some damage, much of the Colosseum‘s structure is still standing. With the guide we will visit the interior of this archaeological wonder dating back to 80 A.D, it will be like going back in time for a truly unique experience!

Roman Forum and Palatine Hill

• Roman Forum, center of Ancient Roman life

After the visit to the Colosseum we will move to the Roman Forum, the center of the political and religious power of Ancient Rome.

Crossing the Via Sacra, or the road that connected the Piazza del Campidoglio to the Colosseum, we will see the archaeological monuments of this extraordinary place, such as the Arch of Titus, the Basilica of Maxentius and Constantine and the Curia Iulia, the building where the Senate met.

Palatine Hill, the oldest in Rome

The last part of our tour in the history of Rome will be on the Palatine Hill, which is the hill with the oldest inhabited center, dating back to 1,000 BC.

This area is home to some of the most important buildings built for Roman high society, such as the Domus Flavia, the House of Livia and even the House of Augustus, the residence of the emperor which preserves part of its original frescoes.

• It is possible to combine a visit to Ancient Rome with a walking tour of the historic center.

We go from Piazza della Rotonda to admire the Pantheon, a building born as a temple in 27 B.C. and later converted into a basilica and the Renaissance fountain of 1575.

We will then arrive at Piazza di Spagna, a place where important monuments such as the Fontana della Barcaccia and the Spanish Steps blends with the innovation of the great Italian brands such as Gucci, Fendi, Valentino who have chosen this location for the unforgettable fashion shows.

Adjacent to the square we find Via Condotti, known as the fashion district and shopping for all tourists arriving in the capital. Do not miss the stop at the Trevi Fountain, made unforgettable by Fellini in the famous scene of La Dolce Vita in which a very young Anita Ekberg invites Marcello Mastroianni into the water: “Marcello, come here!”.

• The tour ends at Piazza Barberini and Via Veneto.
